Frequently Asked Questions

What are Tester products?

Testers are a great way to save money! In many cases, the only difference between the original perfume you would buy, and the tester, is the outer box. Usually, the tester will come in a plain white or brown box. In many cases people will just throw the boxes away when they open the perfume, so why pay extra? Perfume Testers are produced for use in high-street stores as demonstration or tester products. They are the genuine article and are all guaranteed unused.

So, if I'm buying a present I shouldn't buy testers as they don't come with a box?

Why not! Many of our customers simply add a ribbon, bow or gift tag to the bottle to personalise the gift. The recipient is still recieving the same great fragrance but with a personal touch - and you've paid much less!.

What are the differences between perfume, eau de toilette and eau de parfum? We'll spare you the science but basically from highest concentration to least, the different forms of perfume are:

Perfume, also called extract or extrait perfume, can include 15-40% perfume concentrates. This is the purest form of scented product and is the most expensive as a result.

Eau de parfum contains about 7-15% perfume concentrates. This is the most popular and common form of perfume. It provides a long-lasting fragrance and generally doesn't cost as much as extract perfume.

Eau de toilette has around 1-6% perfume concentrates. This makes for a light scent that doesn't linger as long as the more intense versions. It was originally intended to be a refreshing body splash to help people wake up in the morning.

Eau de cologne is sometimes used interchangeably with the term eau de toilette. However, the concoction began as the name of a light, fresh fragrance mixed with citrus oils and was made popular by Napoleon. Some perfumers today have a version of this called eau fraiche.

While these are the main classes of perfume, other products are frequently scented with perfume concentrates too. Lotions, creams, powders, body splashes, aftershaves, soaps, and other cosmetic products may contain variable (though usually small) amounts of fragrance

Why are your perfumes and aftershave so cheap? They must be fake!.

Absolutly not! We only EVER stock 100% authentic products. We have an international network of perfume distributors and therefore by not being tied to a single supplier we can be flexible with what we buy and where we buy it. Buying this way means we always have a varied stock but can take advantage of differing international excahange rates - when it's competitive to buy from certain countries we do - and we then pass this saving on to you.

Oh, I heard about this. You import things from abroad then hit me with import duty when my goods arrive thats why you're products are so cheap!.

Wrong! The price you see on our site is the price you pay. There are some online shops where they order the goods in from abroad and then the goods get held in customs. We do not display stock until we have them in our warehouses and they have all the relevant taxes paid by us.
